Your Friend,

Thank you for an outstanding day on the water.  I truly mean it when I say it was the best day fishing I have had since back in the early '90's on Lake Fork.  Despite the wind you displayed the stamina of the professional guide you are making our day a success.  You taught me so much about identifying the types of fish on the Lowrance and about using the Carolina Rig.  I'm not sure I will ever use anything but the C-rig in the future.  Of course using it is one thing finding the fish to bite it is another.  I can see I will need to spend a day on the water with my instruction book and my Lowrance in order to know where to fish.  I'm going to enjoy learning.
Again, it was a joy and a blessing to spend the day with you.
May God continue to bless you,
Gary Hancock

James! I can`t thank you enough for the wonderful trip I had last Thursday. I learned more from you in 5 hrs than I` ve learned in almost 40 yrs of fishing. Up until catching that monster I had caught less than 10 bass total and none over 2 lbs. Catching that monster (10.20 lbs) was the highlight of my life. I still have to pinch myself to be sure it was real. But, then again, I`ll have the mount from Lake Fork Taxidermy to prove it. You are a true gentlemen and a bonafied expert in the art of bass fishing. I WILL BE BACK. For the masses out there, I cant recommend this man enough. If you come, you will catch fish.
Thanks Again and God Bless,
 Robert Davis

Dear James,

Thank you so much for the photo's, they really came out very well, as I'm sure you saw on the boat, I was absolutely thrilled with the time we spent together, and still have a smile on my face from having improved on my best by quite some way. James, in terms of guides, you are in every way "the real deal!" Not only are you a very talented angler, and one that knows Lake Fork incredibly well, but your ability to locate and put a client on huge fish is very obvious. The way you adapted to the difficult and changing conditions was key to me having a successful trip, as well as working so very hard to ensure that the fish we found were put in the boat, it was awesome. The fishing aside, I thoroughly enjoyed the time we spent on and off the water together, chatting about our mutual passion and so many other things. You certainly know what it takes to have a client walk away from their fishing experience fully satisfied. Please don't ever hesitate to put my name forward if someone is looking for a reference, I already look forward to my trip next year, and assure you that I will be booking with you again. My sincere thanks.

God bless

Hey man, I hope all is well with you. Kevin and I fished with you a couple of weeks ago. We wanted to say thanks for turning us onto Grande Bass baits. We fished them at a private lake yesterday and caught 30+ fish in 4 hours. They killed the Rattle Snake. I won't doubt you anymore. I have already ordered a new supply.
Looking forward to booking another trip for Spring.
Take care,
Jon Frank

Hello James,

This is Cassie DeReese, just wanted to let you know we had a great time fishing. We really hope to come up and fish again soon. Please forward our pictures soon. Gary can hardly wait to show them too lol.
Thank you again for being a part of our wonderful vacation.
Thank you,
Cassie DeReese

Thank you so much, for the fun day on Lake Fork. John and I had a GREAT time! It was very nice to get away for one day and relax. Thanks for putting us on all those fish and putting up with the two of us. We can be a handful at times.
Again, I can’t really tell you in words how much fun we had with you. It was a trip neither of us will ever forget. WE will be booking another trip very soon. I would like to book one with you in winter and another one in the spring. You do an excellent job providing a memorable experience for your clients and it was well worth the price.
I think John told you that we took the Grande Bass Rattlesnakes to a private lake on the 4th of July and in 4 hours, caught 30+ fish. WE did get a couple bites on other baits, but when we tied on the Rattlesnake Texas rigged, it was on. They killed it!!! You said you would make believers and we are now. You will have to pry them out of my dead hands, if you want them back.
Thanks again, for a great trip. We had a blast with you! Be safe and we’ll talk soon.
Keep the lines tight!

I finally made my first trip to Monticello yesterday with James Caldemeyer, and man what a day it was! I've heard of people catching 30 or so fish in a day and thought that would be pretty fun to do. Well, we ended up catching 50 with the biggest being around 4.5! I'd say our 5 biggest would have been around 18 lbs or so. I was also told by a few guys about how hard the fish fight up there. Several times I thought I had a 4 or 5 lber on, but it was only 1.5 lbs or so. I was like a kid in a candy store with a smile from ear to ear!

Before yesterday I had never thrown a drop shot rig. I've been wanting to learn for a while so I asked James to show me how to rig it, how to fish it, and everything else you could think of. Within about 5 minutes or so I had my first fish on! As we fished it more and more James kept giving me tips on how to increase my hookup rate. He could see what I was doing wrong and didn't hesitate to help out.

The main brand of baits we used yesterday was Grande Bass! I have a whole new outlook towards them after this trip. We were throwing a Grande Stik in Watermelon/Red. The biggest thing I noticed is how durable the baits are. I caught probably 5 or so fish on one worm without it tearing up. When you take the hook out of the worm you can easily put it back on without the hook falling out or going through the other side. The head also didn't tear up. I mainly have been using another plastic bait, but after yesterday I'll be stocking up on some Grande Stiks!

All in all it was one heck of a day. If any of you are looking for a guided trip to Monticello or Fork I highly recommend James Caldemeyer. Not only can he put you on the fish, but he'll take the time to teach you whatever it is you want to learn. He's also a good man. Something that took me by surprise is this. When we were heading out from the ramp he stopped the boat (Ranger Z20!!!) and turned the motor off. I thought we were getting ready to fish. He said, "No, I always like to start the day off with a prayer." This says a lot about him.

Thanks again for a great day on the water!
